Westchester County resident Anna Marie Dietz, 53, of West Harrison, was arrested on Saturday, July 31, by Wilton Police after an officer spotted her sleeping in her BMW in the Wilton Board of Education parking lot.

When Dietz awoke and saw the officer, she took off and engaged police in a brief pursuit south on Danbury Road before stopping in front of a local childcare center, said the Wilton Police.

When officers spoke with Dietz, she appeared intoxicated and failed to perform the field sobriety tests to standards, police said.

Dietz was placed under arrest and refused to complete chemical testing after providing a first breath sample with a BAC result of .1566.

She was charged with DUI and engaging police in pursuit.

Dietz was released after posting a $500 bond.
